How to use it to save for gifts
- Start in November so there's time to save before the holidays.
- Make a short gift list together and add up roughly what it costs. That's the savings goal.
- Pick 4 to 6 chores and set what each one pays. Bigger jobs pay more.
- Pay on the same day every week, and let them put the money in a jar or envelope marked "gifts".
- Take them shopping with their own money. Handing over the cash is the best part.
Holiday chores kids can help with
- Help decorate the tree or the house
- Wrap presents (tape is a great job for little hands)
- Write or draw holiday cards
- Help bake cookies and clean up after
- Set the table for a holiday meal
- Tidy their room before guests arrive
