ChoreWorth

Halloween chore chart for kids

October is busy: costumes, pumpkins, parties and a lot of candy wrappers. Put the jobs on a chart your kids can check off themselves. Change the name and chores, then print it or use it on a tablet.

1Type their chores

Pick from common chores or write your own. Every chore gets a picture so kids who can't read yet can follow along.

2Pick a look

Sunny and Chalkboard are free. Pro adds Ocean, Space, Garden and an ink-saving black and white version.

3Print and stick it up

Print it for the fridge, or open Kid mode on a tablet or phone and let them tap chores off. Install ChoreWorth on the home screen to use it like an app.

Halloween and fall chores kids can help with

  • Rake leaves into a pile (and jump in it after)
  • Sweep the porch before trick-or-treaters arrive
  • Help scoop out the pumpkin
  • Help put up and take down decorations
  • Hang up the costume after wearing it
  • Put candy wrappers in the trash
  • Sort their candy and put it in a container

Tips for a busy October

  • Keep everyday jobs, like making the bed and brushing teeth, on the chart. Swap in one or two seasonal jobs each week.
  • Use the reward goal: a set number of checks earns a small treat from the candy bag, or picking the movie for a Halloween movie night.
  • On Halloween itself, keep the list short. Two or three jobs is plenty on a big night.
